24/5 Trading

24/5 trading FAQ questions

24/5 trading allows you to trade selected stocks nearly 24 hours a day, five days a week. This gives you access to the market outside regular U.S. trading hours, allowing you to react to news and market events as they occur.

24/5 trading consists of four market sessions:

  • Pre-market: 04:00 – 09:30 ET
  • Regular hours: 09:30 – 16:00 ET
  • After-hours: 16:00 – 20:00 ET
  • Overnight: 21:00 – 04:00 ET

Together, these sessions provide access to eligible stocks nearly 24 hours a day, five days a week.

Please note that trading conditions, including liquidity, bid-ask spreads, and price volatility, may vary significantly between sessions. As a result, prices during extended-hours and overnight sessions may differ from those available during regular trading hours.

In some cases, orders may take longer to execute or may not be executed at all due to limited market activity.
